Son of actor Pedro Armendáriz. An architect by profession, he came to acting by accident.    

He appeared in over 140 films, both in Spanish and in other languages. Some of his performances are in: El crimen del padre Amaro (2002), Matando cabos (2004), La ley de Herodes (1999), Serafín, la película (2001), Érase una vez en México (2003), El Zorro: La máscara del Zorro (1998) both he and his father appeared in films of the James Bond saga.  

In dubbing he provided his voice in: Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Cars, Kung Fu Panda. 

Winner of an Ariel Award for best male co-acting for La Ley de Herodes (1999), as well as various awards at film festivals in Mexico. 

The actor died in 2011 due to cancer.
