His first film appearance was in the movie Viento negro. Later (1966) he filmed El escapulario. He began his career to fame by appearing in El carruaje, a soap opera where he played the worthy Benito Juárez.
He has also participated in other films such as Actas de Marusia, El Apando, Massacre on the Tula River.
His work extends to TV, acting in soap operas such as: María Isabel, Las caminos del amor (2002), Atrévete a olvidarme (2001), Corazón indomable (2013).
He has won the Ariel Award six times, been nominated for the Silver Goddess Award and has been nominated several times for the TV and Novelas Award, among other awards.
