After studying law for a while, Verástegui decided to try luck in modeling, acting and singing before moving to Mexico City at the age of 17.
As a singer, he was a founding member of the musical group Kairo. In 2012, he portrayed the Mexican martyr Anacleto González Flores in the historical film Cristiada, directed by Dean Wright.
In 2023, he was in charge of producing the film Sound of Freedom, which depicted the events of the rescue carried out by the organization Operation Underground Railroad (OUR) of more than one hundred children who were victims of sexual exploitation in Colombia.
That same year he applied for a possible candidacy for the Presidency of Mexico.
He has worked as an advocate for women's rights through the organization Manto de Guadalupe. He currently continues his activism, bringing Catholic values to his papers and projects.
