She has appeared in successful films such as Cilantro y parroquia (1997), Sexo, pudor y lágrimas (1999) and El crimen del padre Amaro (2002). She has starred in the Mexican soap operas Vivir un poco (1985) and Mirada de mujer (1997), Cañaveral de pasiones (Cañaveral of passions).
In theatre, she participated in the Cervantino Festival and in successful productions; she participated in radio soap operas and radio news readings.
She has also ventured into music and activism with Lectura en Voz Alta, which promotes reading among children and adults in rural regions.
In 2003, she won an Ariel Award for Best Supporting Actress for El padre Amaro. She has also received Bravo Awards, ACE Awards, and TVyNovelas Awards for her work on television.
